John Martin

John Martin, 78, of Paloma, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021, at his home.
Born July 9, 1942, in Tulsa,  Oklahoma, John was a son of George and Hazel  Hicks Martin. He married Thelma  Bartmess on June 1, 1969, in Waconda, MO. She survives.
John was employed as an eyeglass technician for over 42 years. He had also taught school and had been previously employed at Motorola in Quincy. Mr. Martin was a member of the First Christian Church in Camp Point.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Jeffrey Martin (Angel), Springfield, IL., Michael Martin (Jennifer), Lincoln, ND., and Matthew Martin (Lindsey), Lancaster, SC; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Martin (Sandy), Louisville, KY., and Steven Martin (Patty), Trenton, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 18 at the First Christian Church by Pastor Rick Fordyce. Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Lucerne Cemetery, Lucerne, MO.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Camp Point.
