Donald E. Eidson, 84, of Camp Point, died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Timber Point Health Care Center in Camp Point.
Born July 21, 1935, in Richfield, IL., Donald was a son of Elmo and Selma Flick Eidson. He married Marian Worman. She survives.
Mr. Eidson owned and operated Eidson's Garage in Camp Point for over 50 years and served as the Camp Point fire chief for almost 10 years.
Survivors in addition to his wife is his son, John Eidson, Camp Point; two daughters, Pamela Schaller (Shad), Ferris, IL., and Cathy Sparks, Wentzville, MO.; nine grandchildren, Johnathan Eidson, Joshua Schaller, Justin Eidson, Melissa Eidson, Kristine Schaller, Chelsey Sparks, Megan Schaller, Elizabeth Schaller, and Zac Cook; six great-grandchildren; two stepsisters, Janet Ohnemus (Alvin), Payson, and Linda Hoch (Arnie), Moberly, MO.; and his dog Lily.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, William Donald and Jeffrey Ray; and his sister, Lola Mae Rottman.
Mr. Eidson was cremated. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday (February 6, 2020) from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to cover final expenses.
