Yvonne Miller

October 1, 1944 — March 22, 2024

Yvonne Jean Miller, 79, of Bowen, IL formerly of Rockton, IL passed away at 6:10 am on Friday March 22, 2024, at her home, peacefully, with family at her side.

She was born October 1, 1944, to Vernon and Madeline Pinot Hyde. Yvonne married Jerry Forberg, of Rockton, IL and they had three children together. She later married David Miller, of Bowen, on January 24, 1992 in Rockton, IL. He survives.

Yvonne was a nurse at Rockford Memorial Hospital, working primarily in the Mother and Baby Unit until retiring in 2007. She was a social butterfly and loved to be with and around people. She owned a dollhouse shop in Rockton with her cousin Dina. One of her favorite days was dressing up as the Easter Bunny for Rockton’s Easter Egg hunt.

Later she volunteered at Severson Dells Forest Preserve, Rockford, and then the Southeastern Food Pantry, after moving to Bowen. She was a member of the U of I Extension Ladies group and enjoyed evenings out with the girls.

She loved being with family and friends. Camping with Dave was her happy place, and she enjoyed filling bird feeders and watching them eat; especially humming birds. Her heart was never far from Plum Lake, Wisconsin, where she vacationed often as a child and then later with her children. Anytime we hear a loon call we will smile and think of Yvonne at Plum Lake.

Yvonne is survived by husband, David; son, Chris (Joy) Forberg; son, Matthew (Diane) Forberg; daughter, Holly (Mark) Cox; grandchildren, Caleb (Anna) Forberg, Grace (Patrick) Newell, Aidan Forberg, Maleah Forberg, Jordan Forberg, Connor Forberg, Madeline Stewart and Aris (Josie) Cox; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Thomas Miller.

Cremation has been accorded, services will be held at a later date. The Hamilton Funeral Home, in Augusta, is handling arrangements.
