William H. "Bill" Ausmus

     William H. "Bill" Ausmus, 69, of Clayton, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

     Born September 14, 1954, in Quincy, Bill was the son of Harry and Ruth Marie Miller Ausmus. He married the love of his life, Deborah Stone, on May 23, 1992, at the Church of Nazarene in Quincy.  She survives.

     Bill was employed as a tool and die maker at Titan Wheel in Quincy. He also farmed in Concord Township south of Clayton all of his life.

     Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spending time on the farm, especially with his cows. Bill never met a stranger and enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Camp Point United Methodist Church.

     Survivors in addition to his wife are his children, Tara (Joe) Neisen, and Nick (Mandy) Rhodes;  his grandchildren, Kylie, Garrett, and Declan Neisen and Shelby and Emily Rhodes; and one great-grandson, Carson Maynor; four sisters, Wilma Sigler, Sherrill (Don) Coles, Erma (Don) Brown, and Norma Bergman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruth Ausmus; two brothers-in-law, Jack Sigler and Daniel Bergman; and his nephew, Kevin Brown.

     Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church by Rev. Jim Crozier. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.

     Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Mini Relay for Life.
