Wade Rittenhouse

Wade Rittenhouse, 87, of Macomb, IL passed away at 9:45 pm Friday September 1, 2023 at Wesley Village in Macomb, IL.

He was born on October 25, 1935 in Augusta, IL to Hershel and Virginia Lambert Rittenhouse. He married Donna Marie Hoag on July 3, 1955 in Macomb, IL. She preceded him in death on October 25, 2010.

Wade attended Augusta Schools. He was employed at NTN Bower in Macomb, IL from August 8, 1974 until retiring October 31, 1997. He served his country in Korea with the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the Macomb VFW Post # 1921 and served as Commander in 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 and organized the Color Guard for many years and was a former member of Macomb American Legion Post #6.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Vicki (Kenny) Belden of Augusta, IL, Debra Hagen of Mt. Sterling, IL and Sylvan (Brian) Miller/Rittenhouse of Colchester, IL, 7 grandchildren, April (Jason) Marlow, Michelle (Keith) Miller, Jeremy (Kathryn) Rittenhouse, R.C. (Loree) Walton, Maggie (Luke) Burnett, Heidi (Adam) Goeken and Paula (B.J.) Kinne and numerous great-grandchildren, 1 brother, David Rittenhouse, 2 half sisters, Peggy Rittenhouse and Melonie Icenogle and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Belden, a sister, Margie O’Brien and 2 brothers, Kenny and Donnie Rittenhouse.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday September 7, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL by Rev. Patsy Spratt and Rev. Jerry Spratt. Burial with Military Honors by Macomb VFW Post #1921 and Macomb American Legion Post #6 will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of services Thursday. Memorial Contributions may be made to Wesley Village.
