Virginia M Kendall, 98, of Carthage, IL formerly of Plymouth, IL died at 9:40 am Friday June 18, 2021 at Silver Maple Memory Care in Carthage, IL

She was born on September 21, 1922 in Plymouth, IL to John and Lera Dunsworth Bell. She married Roland Kendall on August 8, 1942 Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He preceded her in death.

Virginia was a graduate of Plymouth High School and Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL. She had been employed at Dennis Chicken Products in Augusta and later was a secretary at Plymouth High School and Western Illinois University in Macomb. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Carthage, IL. Virginia was a Charter member of the Shadrach Bond Chapter of the DAR in Carthage and a former member of the Tri- County Country Club in Augusta, IL. She enjoyed playing cards (especially Bridge), doing needlework and traveling, but her most cherished times were those she could spend with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Judie Marshall of Carthage, IL, 2 grandchildren, Mark Marshall of Macomb, IL and Leigh Anne Klein of Sana Cruz, CA, 3 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Finn and Jasper.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Walter Anderson.

Cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Friday July 2, 2021 at Rosemont cemetery in Plymouth, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Memorial Hospital Foundation or Carthage Library.

The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is handling arrangements.
