Troy VanFleet

Troy E. VanFleet, 50, of Bowen, IL passed away unexpectedly at 4:20 pm Wednesday August 3, 2022 in Augusta, IL.

He was born on August 28, 1971 in Macomb, IL to Alan E. and Susan Beal VanFleet. He married Mikayla Phillips on July 4, 2020 near Brooklyn, IL. She survives.

Troy was a 1990 graduate of Southeastern High School in Augusta, IL. He was employed as the Water and Street Superintendent for the Village of Augusta, IL he formerly owned and operated Windows of America. Troy was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors including making maple syrup and hunting and collecting arrowheads and artifacts.

He is survived by his wife Mikayla, 3 sons;  Koal (Sarah) Twaddle of Dyersburg, TN, Jacob VanFleet of Augusta, IL, Aaron Schone of Bowen, IL,  2 daughters, Bailey VanFleet of Augusta, IL and Amber Schone of Bowen, IL, his mother, Susan Fairchild of Colchester, IL, his step-mother, Melanie VanFleet of Plymouth, IL, his grandmother, Vivian Beal of Macomb, IL, 2 grandchildren, Baker and Zane Twaddle, 3 sisters, Lisa (Paul) Butterfield of Colchester, IL, Vicki (Rick) Williams of Colchester, IL, Mary Fairchild of Plymouth, IL, 3 brothers, Ryan (Traci) VanFleet and Justin (Rachelle) VanFleet of Plymouth, IL Ben (Tina) Fairchild of LaHarpe, IL, mother and father in law, Nancy and Shawn Homan of Bowen, IL, father-in-law, J.Jay Phillips of Plymouth, IL, brother-in-law, Mitch (Lindsey) Phillips of Augusta, IL, sisters-in-law, Chesney (Logan) Moore of Camp Point, IL, Jacy (Brad) Phillips of Festus, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan VanFleet, his paternal grandparents, Harold and Ina VanFleet and maternal grandfather, Earl Beal.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday August 8, 2022 at the Bowen Christian Church in Bowen, IL by Pastor Earl Beal. Burial will follow at Bowen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday August 7, 2022 at the Bowen Christian Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Augusta Children Park.
