Thomas J. Hessling

Mr. Thomas J. “Tom” Hessling, 85, of Quincy, IL, died at 2:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Born September 20, 1940, in Quincy, Tom was the son of Frank and Alvera Winking Hessling. He married Betty A. Fisher on June 17, 1961, in Quincy. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2017.

Tom enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, listening to his son sing and play music, and being in the company of family, friends, and coworkers.

Tom was employed by Electric Wheel in Quincy for several years. He later owned and operated Tommy’s Boards in More, before eventually taking a position with Shottenkirk Toyota.

Survivors include his three children, Teri McEwen (Tony) of Quincy, Shelley Campbell (Lee) of Quincy, and Todd Hessling(Angel) of Liberty; six grandchildren, Tyler McEwen (Jenna), Cody Campbell (Save), Dylan Campbell(Lisa), Dalton Campbell, Tanner Hessling, and Taylor Hessling; 4 great grandchildren, Emma McEwen, Caden McEwen, Azel Campbell, and Levi Campbell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; and nine siblings.

Tom was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held October 10, 2026, at the Elks Lodge in Quincy, IL, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
