Terry Smith

Terry E Smith, 65, of Loraine, IL died at 4:35 am Sunday May 21, 2023 at his home.

He was born on September 23, 1957 in Quincy, IL to Leslie and Mary Ellen Wear Smith.

He married Gayla Nichols in 1983 near LaPrairie, IL. She survives.

Terry was a graduate of Mendon High School. He worked in construction, farming, Prairie Farms Diary and in most recent years was employed at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL

He enjoyed playing music, gardening, fishing, collecting antique MG cars and doing carpentry work.  He was a former member of the Loraine Lions Club.

He is survived by 2 sons, Jesse Smith of Quincy, IL and Daniel Ray Smith, a daughter, Jennifer Peters, a grandson, Nicholas Smith and a sister, Shirley Mae Sitrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Amanda Maxine Smith and numerous brothers and sisters.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Saturday May 27, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Hugs of Hancock County.
