Sylvia C Rice

     Sylvia C. Rice, 86, of Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling, IL., formerly of Columbus, died at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the home in Mt. Sterling.
     Born July 13, 1936, in Brewer, Maine, Sylvia was the daughter of Roland and Camalita Sanbond Booker. She married Junior R. Rice on March 10, 1955, in Brewer, ME. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2017.
     Mrs. Rice had been employed as a CNA at North Adams Home until her retirement.     
    Surviving are her children, Junita Rae Jones (Casey), Redding, CA., Janella Rose Johnson (Robert), Hudson, WI., John Roland Rice, Mossyrock, WA., Jay Richard Rice, New Gloucester, ME., and, JoEll Roxann Rice, Columbus; several grandchildren; and her siblings, Roland Booker Jr., Adella Neil, Isabelle Martin, and Charles Booker.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters, Elisabeth, Charlene, and Gwendolyn.
     Services will be held Friday, February 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum, 5200 Broadway, Quincy, IL., 62305.
