Rosemary J. (Smith) Wear, 86, of Griffin, GA., formerly of Brazil, IN. and Clayton, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the home of her daughter.Born November 16, 1934, in Clayton, Rosemary was a daughter of Chester and Eva Abel Smith. She married Bruce J. Wear October 20, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2010.
Rosemary was a devoted wife and mother while their children were growing up. In 1978, Bruce and Rosemary started Hoosier Homes in Brazil, Indiana, which was a manufactured home sales company. They enjoyed working in business together and they enjoyed traveling together following retirement. Rosemary loved her family and was proud of each one of them. She was classy, caring, confident, fun loving, hard working, and generous.
Survivors include her son, Boyce Wear and his wife DeLayne, Columbia, TN.; her daughter, Debbie Shoemaker and her husband Jon, Griffin, GA.; five grandchildren, Justin Wear and his wife Edie, Nashville, TN., Jeremy Wear and his wife Jill, Annapolis, MA., Charles Shoemaker and his wife Carla, McDonough, GA., Kimmie (Shoemaker) White and her husand Christian, Atlanta, GA., and Ashley (Shoemaker) McNeill and her husband Zach, Griffin, GA.; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Bruce.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the New Loraine Cemetery, Loraine, IL.
Memorials may be made to Clayton Christian Church.
