A memorial graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday (October 17, 2020) at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta by Rev. Dave Scott.
Raymond L. “Tip” Kamm, 89, of Augusta, IL died at 1:25 pm Saturday May 2, 2020 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL.
He was born on December 27, 1930 in Ferris, IL to George and Clara Ahrens Kamm. He was united in marriage to Janis Waner on October 17, 1954 in Plymouth, IL. She survives.
Tip was a 1949 graduate of Plymouth High School. He was retired as a central office equipment installer for Alcatel Lucent and drove for Gully Transportation after his retirement. He was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Tennessee, IL and an active member of the Augusta Senior Citizens. Tip proudly served his country with the United States Army.
He is survived along with his wife Janis by two children; Cherryl (Gary) Johnson of Glen Ellyn,IL, Eddie (Nicole) Kamm of Quincy, IL , six grandchildren, Jeff (Leslie) Johnson, Jennifer (Mike) Goehl, Cory (Jessie) Kamm, Cody (Stephanie) Kamm and Kylie and Katie Kamm, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters; Vivian Tewes of Snellville, GA and Frances Fish of Lake Geneva, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Laverne Olson and Evelyn Kamm and a brother, Melvin Kamm.
Due to the current health situation private family services will be held at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL with Rev. Dave Scott officiating. Friends may view and sign the register book from Noon until 7:00 pm on Thursday May 7, 2020 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. Memorials may be made to the Faith Fellowship Church or The Augusta Senior Citizens Center. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Friends may watch Tip’s funeral service streaming at 2:00 pm Friday May 8, 2020 on the funeral home website at hamiltonfuneralhomes.net
