Morris E Rang

Morris E. Rang, 85, of Augusta, IL died at 8:39 pm Monday April 17, 2023 at the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL.

He was born on January 6, 1938 near Bowen, IL to Jacob L. and Eva Hare Rang. He was united in marriage to Roberta Knowles on November 25, 1956 in the Plymouth Methodist Church.

Morris was a 1955 graduate of Augusta High School and attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. He farmed in his younger years but spent most of his life as the owner of Rang Construction and had built over 40 new homes in the Augusta area along with many other building projects. Morris enjoyed hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Roberta, a son, Morris Rang II and his wife Teresa Frericks Rang of Augusta, IL, 3 grandchildren, Kristin (Lance Homan) Rang Covert of Plymouth, IL, Justin (Tiffany) Rang of Berlin, IL, Ashley (Jeff) White of Quincy, IL, 7 great-grandchildren, Shaleigh (Tanner) Cox, Sheyenne (Jordan) Ray, Gavin Covert, Jaleigh Rang, Jalynn Rang, Rylie VanFleet, Slade White, 4 great-great grandchildren, Everly, Emberly and Julia Ray and Holten Cox, 2 sisters-in-law, Norma Bennett of Golden, IL, Jan Knowles of Macomb, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Green and 2 brothers-in-law, Fred Bennett and Mike Knowles.

Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday April 21, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL with Rev. Jerry Spratt and Rev. Patsy Spratt officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 Thursday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. A private burial will be held at Rosemont cemetery in Plymouth, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Good Shepherd Home.
