Melissa Blickhan

     Melissa A. Blickhan, 54, of Fowler, IL., died at 3:36 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2022, at her home.

     Born February 5, 1968, in Quincy, IL., Melissa was the daughter of Donald Dean and Beth A. Abel Flesner. She married Craig J. Blickhan on August 25, 2007, at St. Edward's The Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon, IL. He survives.

     Melissa was employed as the head cook at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, IL. until her retirement due to ill health. 

     She enjoyed sewing, riding motorcycles, camping, and going to the farm. Her greatest joys came from the time she spent with her family, especially playing cards with her dad. She most treasured times were attending dance competitions where she loved watching Lizzy compete. She was a member of St. Edward's The Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon, IL.

     Survivors in addition to her husband Craig, are her daughter, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Blickhan, Fowler, IL.; her father, Dean Flesner (Ann), Golden, IL.; her siblings, Deana Elbus (Kevin), Quincy, IL., and Shawn Flesner, Golden, IL.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her mother, Beth, and her sister, Dawn Flesner.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 9 at St. Edward's The Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon, IL. by Father Scott Snider. Burial will follow at Golden Memorial Gardens, Golden, IL.

     Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Edward's The Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon, IL.

     Memorial contributions may be made to Q Dance or Quincy Notre Dame.
