Marilyn Flesner

Marilyn L. Flesner, 94, of Golden, IL passed away at 10:35 am Sunday December 7, 2025 at the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL.

She was born on December 28, 1930 near Golden, IL to Henry and Cornelia Aden Schuster. She was united in marriage to Virgil L. Flesner on November 26, 1949 in Golden, IL. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2016.

Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of Golden High School. She was employed at Motorola in Quincy, IL until it’s closing and was then employed at Methode Electronics in Carthage and Golden IL and then worked at the Golden Fast Stop in Golden, IL. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Golden, IL.

She is survived by her children; Marcia (Diane) Flesner of Columbia, MO, Audrey Eyler (Bob Kerr) of LaPrairie, IL, Christine (Jack) Hamilton of Augusta, IL, Sandy (Denny) Nichols of Ursa, IL, Jeff (Cindy) Flesner of Ursa, IL, Greg (Alana) Flesner of Bowen, IL, a daughter-in-law, Pam Flesner of Camp Point, IL, a sister, Esther (Robert) Hufendick of Quincy, IL and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death along with her husband Virgil by a daughter, Roberta Belden, a son, Rod Flesner, a grandson, Dillon Flesner, a granddaughter, Kathy Rigney, a great-grandson, Brody Hamilton, 3 sisters, Louise Roman, Hildegarde Leerhoff and Bernice Johnston, 2 brothers, William and Harold Schuster.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday December 13, 2025 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL with Brother Matt Haberman officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Memorial Garden cemetery in Golden, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Good Shepherd Home.
