Mardell Lord

Mardell Lord, age 92 of Jacksonville,NC , passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2026 at the home of her son Michael Lord in Greenville, NC with family members present.

Mardell was born in Pittsfield, Illinois on July 13th, 1934 to parents Loraine and Anna Hurst. She married Robert Lord on September 26, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 5th, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her 5 siblings.

She is survived by her children Michael Lord (Regina) of Greenville, NC, Marena Jackson (Mark) of Coal Valley, IL, Roberta Bettler (Mark) of Jacksonville, NC, grandsons Garrett Bettler (Rachel) of Charlotte, NC, Marshall Bettler of Chapel Hill, NC, step grandsons DJ Wahl (Ashley) of the Netherlands, Brian Wahl of Raleigh, NC and sisters-in-law Jacqueline Loop, Sue Hurst, Bonnie Hurst and nieces and nephews.

Per Mardell’s wishes, private burial will take place in Augusta, Illinois at a later date for immediate family.

The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
