Lonnie Dobbins

Lonnie D. Dobbins, 57, of Augusta, IL passed away at 9:18 am Saturday September 6, 2025 at his home in Augusta.

He was born on February 5, 1968 in Macomb, IL to Robert and Bebe Ann Hatch Dobbins. He was united in marriage to Cindy Johnson on September 23, 1989 in Plymouth, IL. She survives.

Lonnie was a 1986 graduate of Plymouth High School. He was employed in his younger years as a farm hand and then was employed in maintenance at Methode Electronics in Carthage and Golden, IL for 23 years and later was employed at Manchester Tank in Quincy. Lonnie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and working in his garden.

He is survived along with his wife Cindy by a daughter, Megan (Alex) Thompson and their son, Carter Thompson of Waldorf, Maryland, his parents, Robert and Bebe Ann Dobbins of Plymouth, IL, a sister, Lorie Dobbins of Augusta, IL, his father-in-law Sam Johnson of Plymouth, IL, 3 sisters-in-law, Teresa (Jimmy) Ippensen of Auburn, IL, Shelly (Dave) Marshall of Keokuk, IA, Keri (Monte) Allison of Macomb, IL, 7 nieces, Jessica (Grant) Watson, Brittany (Brian) Apostal, Kelli (Daniel) Riney, Merydith (Brett) Kelley, McKenzie Marshall, and Sadie Allison, 1 nephew, Macon Allison, numerous great nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Macy.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Luan Johnson, maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Evelyn Hatch and paternal grandparents, Glen and Nellie Dobbins.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday September 10, 2025 at Woodlawn cemetery in Augusta with Pastor Sheri Renner officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:45 Am Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Tri-County First Responders.
