Linda Mercer

Linda M. Mercer, 76, of Springfield, IL passed away at 4:55 am Wednesday May 13, 2026 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg, IL.

She was born on June 10, 1949 in Macomb, IL to Marsey and Mildred Rhea Corder, after her mother’s passing she was raised on the Forrest and Mary Ellen Osborne farm near Augusta, IL. She was united in marriage to Robert Mercer and he preceded her in death. Linda was employed with the State of Illinois until her retirement.

She is survived by a brother, Leroy Corder, 4 sisters, Patsy West, Jean Lindsay, Mary Sue Cramm and Jo Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Young and Marcia Haines.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday May 23, 2026 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Burial will follow in Woodlawn cemetery in Augusta. Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of services. Memorials may be made to the Woodlawn Cemetery Association.
