Lauretta Kimball

Lauretta Lee Kimball, 86, of Quincy, IL. joined her loved ones in Heaven at 12:30 pm Monday January 8, 2024 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. 

Lauretta was born on April 20, 1937 in Chicago, IL. a daughter of Phillip Pluskiss and Elizabeth Margaretta Carta.  She was first married to Albert Loran Rasner, they divorced. He preceded her in death November 23, 1993. She was then married to Robert Don Kimball who preceded her in death on January 11, 1995. 

Lauretta was a graduate of Fenger High School in Chicago, IL. She got her Associates degree from Milligan College in Tennessee. Lauretta was employed as a Resource Educator/Librarian in District 150 in Cook County, IL. from 1971 to 1986. She was of the Christian faith. Lauretta enjoyed spending her time reading, making crocheted afghans and doing other handcrafts but her most cherished times were spent enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Lauretta is survived by her children: Sandra Lynn Rasner of Peoria, IL.  Albert Harrison Rasner of Dutton, AL. Kathie Jo (Paul) Nespeca of Orland Park, IL. Kurt Allen (Chrissy) Rasner of Schererville, IN. John Leonard Rasner of Peoria, IL. SarahJeanne (Jeff) Olson of Canton, IL. and Amy Corinne (Kent) Lord whom she lived with in Quincy, IL. Her grandchildren: Jacob Kyle Lord, Miranda Elizabeth Lord, Christopher James Olson, Nicholas Jeffery Olson, Aaron Mitchell Olson, Isaac Gerald Olson, Kurt Gotlieb Rasner, Tiffani Amber Ferro, Michael Andrew Ferro. Great-grandchildren: Evan Lucas Ferro and Asher Aaron Lister. 

Lauretta was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Mae Pedersen, daughter-in-law Robyn Rasner and Great-granddaughter Evalyn Alosia Cox.  

As per Lauretta’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday January 20, 2024 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta branch of the Greater West Central Library District.
