Larry D Koontz

Mr. Larry D. Koontz, 63, of Camp Point, IL, passed away at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home.

Born July 12, 1962, in Quincy, IL, Larry was the son of Larry Dean Koontz and Judy Louderback.

Larry enjoyed taking his car to Havanna to race with his friends. He worked as a mechanic throughout his life. Larry served his country in the US Air Force. His greatest joy came from spending time with his granddaughters.

Survivors include his daughter, Tabitha Mayfield (Shane Saxbury), Clayton, IL; his granddaughters, Teagen Saxbury and Addison Davis; his step father, Bob Dierker; his step mother, Dorris Koontz; his sisters, Tammy Koontz Wellman, Melissa Saxbury, Kim Koontz, Stacey Dierker, Renee Mowen, and Judy Dierker; his brothers, Rocky Koontz and Steve Koontz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry; his mother, Judy; a brother in infancy, Jimmy Dean Koontz; his nephew, Bobby Koontz; and his uncle, Merle Koontz.

Larry was cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point.
