Larry Hiland

Larry Keith Hiland, 83, of Augusta, Illinois passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 1:43p.m in his home.

Larry was born January 20,1943 at his family home in Augusta, Illinois to Edgar Hiland and Dorothy Lambert Hiland.

Larry was a man of God. He served the Lord throughout his lifetime, and his dedication to his Christian beliefs was evident in how he lived his life.

Family was of utmost importance to Larry. He was also known as Husband, Uncle, Brother, Cousin, Dad, Pops, Poppa and GPop. His many friendships were a close second to family.

Larry was a graduate of Augusta High School then attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville where he received a degree in Accounting. Although he had a stellar career and too many accomplishments to count, he would have been too humble to boast of his successes.

Larry had a wide variety of interests and hobbies which included, but certainly was not limited to GOLF, basketball, football, hunting, mowing, boating, rolling dice, smoking pipes and cigars, observing nature, spending time with loved ones and porch sitting.

He is survived by two siblings: Mike Hiland and Barb Hiland. He spent thirty-four years married to Judith Guthrie Hiland with whom he shared two children; one son, Greg Hiland, and one daughter, Lynne Gulotta. His remaining twenty-seven years were spent married to Babe Brock Hiland. He is also survived by four grandchildren: McKenna Graham, Megan Post, Kaley Hiland and Tyler Hiland. In addition, he has two great grandsons, Luke and Brett Graham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sadie Witt and two brothers Ed “Kook” Hiland and Jim Hiland.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home, 200 Orchard Street, Augusta, Illinois at 11a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Following the service there will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE held at Tri-County Country Club. Food and beverage will be provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tri-County Country Club.
