Karen L Ross

Karen L. Ross, 78, of Augusta, IL passed away at 4:48 pm Thursday May 15, 2025 at her home.

She was born on April 21, 1947 near Plymouth, IL to Louis V. and Thelma Louise Manlove Grim. She was first married to Edward Powell, she later married Joe Wayland and later married Ralph Ross. Joe and Ralph preceded her in death.

Karen was a 1965 graduate of Plymouth High School. She had most recently served as a clerk at Rhodes Market in Augusta. She was a member of the Macomb VFW Auxiliary Post # 1921, she enjoyed being outdoors, mowing her lawn, gardening and fishing in Wisconsin and she loved animals.

She is survived by her children; Sonja (Mark) Grant of Colchester, IL, Todd (Jessica) Wayland of Gurley, AL, a grandson, Jonathan Cooper Wayland of Gurley, AL, 2 sisters, Phyllis Toland of Plymouth, IL and Mary Luder of Burlington, IA, a brother, Lawrence Grim of Springfield, IL and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Louie and Bobbie Grim.

Cremation has been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday May 23, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Macomb VFW Post #1921 located at 1200 East Jefferson Street in Macomb, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
