Juanita Oitker

F. Juanita Oitker, 94, of Quincy, IL, passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center in Mt. Serling, IL.

 Juanita was born on July 13, 1930, in Rock Island, IL, to Oden and Frances Peterson Sparks. She married Clifton Oitker on April 10, 1965, and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1985.

 Raised on a farm near Kingston, IL, Juanita graduated from Liberty High School. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Along with her husband Clif, she owned and operated Wayco Motors in Quincy until her retirement.

 Juanita is survived by her daughter, Odena (Virgil) McDowell of Baylis, IL; her son, Marion "Rusty" Sutton of Rushville, IL; four grandchildren: Lucas (Alicia) McDowell, Brian (Tammy) Sutton, Brent Sutton, and Jeff (Jennifer) Sutton; and eleven great-grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter-in-law, Mary Sutton; two granddaughters, Jeannie McDowell and Kari Shahan; one grandson, Michael McDowell ; her brother, Russell Sparks; her stepchildren; and her nephew, Gary Sparks.

 Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point, IL.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingston Cemetery.
