Joe Williams, 80, of Coatsburg, (formerly of Camp Point) died at 1:25 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at the Eastside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield.
Born May 23, 1940, in Quincy, Joe was a son of Joseph and Virginia Kuhn Williams. He married Linda Norris on April 22, 1960, at the Columbus United Methodist Church parsonage. She survives.
Joe owned and operated the Camp Point Elevator for many years. He then started Midway Auto Sales in Coatsburg which he operated until his retirement.
Joe enjoyed visiting with people and sharing stories. Whether at the car lot or the coffee shop, he truly loved a good story and a great joke, but his greatest joys came from being with family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Jerry Williams, Rock Springs, WY, Kim Humke (David), Springfield, IL, Tammy Nelson (Gary), Camp Point, and Tony Williams (Staci), Coatsburg; his son in law, Kenny Mowen, Golden; his grandchildren, Chuck (Brandi) Mowen, Danielle (Jaben) Turner, April (Tony) Buss, Brandie (Mike) Fields, Alicia (Zack) Jones, Lindsay Humke (Danny O'Brien), Madison Humke, Jacob (Jaden) Nelson, Shane Nelson (Katelyn Wolfe), Alexis Williams (Kevin Campbell), Cole Williams, Dominic Williams, and Garret Williams; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a niece, Carol (Scott) Guthrie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diane Mowen; a great-grandson, Blayne Mowen; his sister, Darlene Howlett; one niece and two nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church by Rev. Sheila Kelly. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Camp Point United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Cemetery or Wolf Ridge Cemetery.
