Janet Jacobs

Janet E. Jacobs, 88, of Grandbury, TX, formerly of Quincy, IL, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at Bristol Park Assisted Living and Care Center in Cleburne, TX

She was born on December 5, 1937, in Quincy, IL, to Paul M. and Bernice C. Brower Bucklo. She was united in marriage to Gary Jacobs on August 5, 1967, at St. Mary’s Church in Quincy, IL. He survives. After marriage, they both taught at White Hall and a few years later moved to Jackson, MS, and later to Ft. Worth, TX, where Janet taught at St. Andrew’s School.

Janet was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Janet and her husband Gary shared 59 years of marriage. She cherished every opportunity to be with her children and her beautiful granddaughter.

She enjoyed being involved in civic and church-related activities, chairing the neighborhood crime watch for multiple years and giving generously of her time to multiple community efforts. She enjoyed bridge and needlework and was an avid reader. Above all, Janet loved her family and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and only brother Michael Bucklo. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, and their sons: John of Los Angeles, CA, and Michael Jacobs of Granbury, TX; and her granddaughter, Catherine Jacobs of San Diego, CA.

A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Calvary Cemetery in Quincy, IL.

The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements.
