Obituary

Mrs. Herriott Ellen Bricker Riley, 91 of Liberty Village in Pittsfield IL, formerly of Clayton, IL passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025

Born January 23, 1934, in Vienna, Missouri. Mrs. Riley was the daughter of Jesse Lee and Velma Linson Bricker. She married Robert Ross Riley on January 1, 1954. 


Herriott was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. In 1976, she lost most of her sight, but this did not slow her down. Herriott still cooked wonderful meals and was an immaculate homemaker; she took great pride in keeping a clean home. Herriott loved to go shopping with her girlfriends. They were wonderful women and made sure that she always had fun. Herriott loved her church and church family. It always brought joy when they would come and sing in her home.

Surviving is her son, Rodney Robert Riley of East Alton, IL. 3 daughters, Deborah Ellen Riley Wright of Galespie, IL, Rebecka Velma Riley Goodman and her husband Kevin of Alton, IL, Julianna Marie Riley Waughop and her husband Bruce of Pekin, IL, a son, Brandon Michael Riley and his girlfriend Erin of Mt. Sterling, IL. 7 Grandchildren, Carl Ross Riley, Jesse Clay wright and his wife Rebecca, Kristin Marie Hobson and her husband John, Megan Elizabeth Pope and her husband Eric, Roy Gene Roper and his wife Jessica, Amanda Marie Moravek and her husband Robert, Ross Allen Riley. 8 great grandchildren, Alexandra Trinity Wright, Dane Maxwell Wright, Blake Edward Martin, Mason Gregory Pope, Connor Wayne Pope, Harper Grace Pope, Abigail Marie Roper, Sarah Elizabeth Roper, Emily Elizabeth Moravek, Kyle Allen Moravek, Ryan Thomas Moravek, Sawyer James Leon Sinnett, Conley Eugene Chaney-Fitzjarrald.

Herriott was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Donna Lee Bricker, her brother Ronald Meyers Bricker, and the love of her life, Robert Ross Riley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Faith Baptist church in Camp Point, IL, by Pastor Tom Robbins. Burial will follow at Xander Cemetery in Liberty, IL. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the services at Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point.
