Eunice Jean Bruns

Eunice Jean Bruns, 89, of Augusta, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:09 am Saturday June 3, 2023 at Maple Grove Memory Care in Carthage, IL.

She was born on April 28, 1934 near Augusta, IL in Hancock County to Lawrence and Faye Hedrick Williams. She married Melvin Bruns on August 4, 1951 at Camp Breckenridge, KY. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2004.

Eunice was a homemaker and farm wife and enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She worked as a CNA at the Hancock County Shelter Care Home in Augusta, IL, Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL and Hancock County Home Health Care. She was a member of the Bowen Christian Church and the Augusta Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by 4 sons; Keith (Brenda) Bruns of Basco, IL, Eldon (Marla) Bruns of Loraine, IL, Larry (Kathy) Bruns of Augusta, IL and Kevin Bruns of Quincy, IL, 7 grandchildren, Denise (Ben) Christian, Adam (Noel) Bruns, Brandon Bruns, Aaron (Taylor) Bruns, Dalton (Amy) Bruns  Michael Bruns and Alexandra Bruns and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Bruns.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday June 12, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL with Pastor Joe Little officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn cemetery in Augusta, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday June 11, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. Memorial contributions may be made to Augusta Senior Citizens Center or Lamoine Christian Camp.
