Mr. Doug E. Means, 71, of Clayton, IL, passed away at 11:28 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Timber Point Health Care Center in Camp Point, IL.
Doug was born April 6, 1954, in Quincy, IL, the son of Melvin and Ruth (Kindhart) Means. He married Nancy Taber in August of 1979.
Throughout his life, Doug was employed as a truck driver for various companies. He enjoyed attending tractor pulls whenever he could and, for many years, volunteered his time at the Clayton Old Settlers tractor pull.
He is survived by his son, Paul Means (Tammy) of Clayton; his sister, Marlene (Dick) Hendricks, Carrollton, IL; his grandchildren McKinley Mast, Kaylee Means, Ryan Sparks (Stephanie), and Jason Sparks; his great-grandchildren, Sophie, Braxton, and Ryker Sparks; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Stabler.
Cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point. Burial will be held at South Side Cemetery in Clayton at a later date.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at South Side Cemetery in Clayton, IL.
Memorials may be made to the family.
