Deanna Schisler

March 25, 1953 — February 3, 2024

     Deanna L. Schisler, 70, of Coatsburg, IL., passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 12:10 a.m. at her home.

     Born March 25, 1953, in Quincy, IL., Deanna was the daughter of John and Pansey Marie Tallon Whitney. She married John M. Schisler on May 12, 1973, in Quincy. He survives.

     Deanna had been employed as an Operating Room Technician, a cook at various institutions in the Camp Point area, and a school bus driver for Central School for 16 years.

     In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished the time she spent with her family.

     Deanna was a born-again Christian who loved to serve the Lord. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church where she served in various positions including; the nursery, the choir, and vacation bible school. Deanna also served several summers at Camp Manitoumi.

     Survivors in addition to her husband John, is her son, Bill Schisler, and his wife Julie, Columbia, MO.; her grandchildren, Madison, Ellie, and Parker Schisler, Columbia; and her brother, Frank Whitney.

     She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Whitney.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point Pastor Tom Robbins. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point, IL.

     A visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Faith Baptist Church.

     Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church for Camp Scholarships.

     The Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point is handling the arrangements.
