D. Wayne Norris

D. Wayne Norris, 85, of Plymouth, IL. died at 12:20 am Wednesday May 31, 2023 at Grand Prairie Assisted Living in Macomb, IL.

He was born on August 10, 1937 in Macomb, IL to Donald and Dorothy Baker Norris. He married Janet Irene Tippet on December 22, 1963 in Macomb, IL. She preceded him in death on October 14, 2022.

Wayne was a graduate of Macomb High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force where he graduated from the Air Avionic School. Wayne was a retired farmer. He enjoyed raising cattle, gun smithing, hunting, attending classic car shows. He loved old tractors and motorcycles, but his biggest joy was raising his daughters and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by three daughters: Janine (Mark) Dorethy of Tennessee, IL; Wendy (Jeff) Legare of Woodstock, IL; and Caroline Norris (Edward) Watson of Pensacola, FL. Wayne has four grandchildren: Heather (Matthew) Parkin, Haley Dorethy (Spencer Raleigh), Emma and Norrie Legare. Wayne’s eight great-grandchildren are: Naomie, Rachel, Ava, Jacob, and Claire Parkin; and Jarrett, Hadley, and Stella Raleigh, a sister, Barbara Hoyt of Macomb, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Norris.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:30 am Saturday June 3, 2023 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services Saturday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions will be made to Plymouth Old Settler’s.
