Christine D. Humke, 69, of LaPrairie, passed away at 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at City of Hope Cancer Center Chicago in Zion, IL.
Born August 23, 1955, in Quincy, IL, Chris was the daughter of Alva LaVerne and Dorothy Triplett Robbins. She married Aldo Humke on July 15, 1978. He survives.
Chris devoted her life to her faith and family. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1965. She was a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College and a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was actively involved in the music ministry, serving as choir director for many years. She loved serving as a volunteer at the Community For Christ Assistance Center in Camp Point.
Chris worked at Camp Point Mutual from 1977 until 2004. She then worked as the office manager for Freiburg Insurance in Clayton for 20 years until her retirement.
In addition to her husband, Aldo, Chris is survived by her three children: Stephen Humke (Paula) of Flannigan, IL; John Humke (Elizabeth) of Loraine, IL; and Mary Katherine Beharrell (Brad) of Southwold, Ontario. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Katie Mae Bennett (Drew), Kinley, Emma, and Logan Humke; Caleb, Amelia, and Benjamin Beharrell; and her great-grandchildren, Lydia and Finnegan.
Also surviving are her siblings, Peggy Branch (Stan), Shirley Nash (Henry), and David Robbins (Jodi); her sisters-in-law, Sharon Claus and Linda Hyer; her brothers-in-law, Lowell Humke and Don Humke (Lynn); as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers-in-law, Larry Claus and Bill Hyer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, at Faith Baptist Church in Camp Point, conducted by Pastor Tom Robbins. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Faith Baptist Church and again on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church and/or Community For Christ Assistance Center.
