Chris D Hornecker

Chris D. Hornecker, 67, of Augusta, IL died at 11:15 am Friday June 14, 2024 at his home in Augusta. 

He was born on July 30, 1956 in Carthage, IL to Buford and Lola Allen Hornecker. He was united in marriage to Deborah Farwell on February 27, 1988 in Keokuk, IA. She survives.

Chris was a graduate of Southeastern High School and attended Carl Sandburg College. He had been employed at Jim Baier Ford and Shottenkirk Chevrolet in Ft. Madison, IA and was later employed at Siemens. Chris enjoyed reading, sports and spending time with his family.

He is survived along with his wife Deborah by 3 daughters; Emily (Nate) Crawford of Chico, CA, Rachel and Sarah Hornecker of Augusta, IL, a granddaughter, Alice Crawford of Chico, CA, a brother, Mick (Janet) Hornecker, 2 sisters, Timmie (Wally) Wasson and Dawn Hornecker of Quincy, IL, step-brothers and sister, Steven (Patricia) Denny of Naperville, IL, Richard (Ginger) Denny of Augusta, IL, Michael (Lisa) Denny of Chandler, AZ, Phyllis (Charles) Darnell of Quincy, IL He is also survived by many extended family members and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Buford and Lola Hornecker and his step-mother, Jean Denny Hornecker O’Neal.

Cremation has been accorded. There will be no visitation. A family graveside service will be held at Huntsville cemetery in Huntsville, IL. Memorials may be made to Huntsville cemetery.
