Carol Foley

Carol Sue Foley, 74, of Mt. Sterling, IL formerly of Huntsville and Jacksonville, IL passed away at 6:14 pm Tuesday December 23, 2025 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, IL. 

She was born on October 3, 1951 in Macomb, IL to William E. and Alice E. Knowles Foley. 

Carol was a 1969 graduate of Augusta High School and attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL. She was retired as the Deputy Assessor with the Morgan County Assessor’s Office, she was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Jacksonville and the Elks Emblem Club. She enjoyed reading and going out to eat with her friends. 

She is survived by a sister; Lesa (Kevin) Likes of Golden, IL, a nephew, Tony (Melissa) Likes of Kaukauna, WI, a niece, Tracy Shaffer of Golden, IL, 1 great-nephew, Logan (Sydney) Likes, 2 great-nieces, Larissa Likes and Abigail Shaffer, a great-great-nephew, Tucker Likes, an aunt, Reta Foley of Macomb, IL, numerous cousins, a special friend, Beverly Hurst of Jacksonville, IL and her brother Brian and her daughter, Renee and Renee’s children, Rachel, Michael and Marshall. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Cremation has been accorded. A private graveside service will be held in the near future at Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta, IL.
