Bruce D Bartlow

Bruce D. Bartlow, 78, of Augusta, IL passed away unexpectedly at 9:21 am Monday, September 15, 2025 at his home.

He was born on April 15, 1947 in Quincy, IL to Albert Dale and Bettie Lea (Bunnell) Bartlow. He was united in marriage to Marcia McPherson on June 6, 1970 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bowen, IL. She survives.

Bruce was a 1965 graduate of Augusta High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bowen, IL.

Bruce was a volunteer driver for the Tri-Village Ambulance Service for several years, former school bus driver for Southeastern School District, and served on the Hancock County Fair Board and the Augusta Farmer’s CO-OP Board. He proudly served in the US Army Reserves.

He is survived along with his wife Marcia by two sons; Andrew (Julie) Bartlow of Macomb, IL, Aaron (Brekin) Bartlow of Monticello, IL, a daughter, Kimberly (Bradley) Wolter of Aviston, IL, seven grandchildren, Delaney and Macie Bartlow, Addison, Brenna and Braden Bartlow and Lauren and Blake Wolter, sister, Anne (Peter) Helgesen of Pine Hurst, NC, mother-in-law Rosalie Hummel, sisters-in-law, Gloria McPherson, Myra (Jim) McMillan, Trina (Andrew) Barlow, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Frank McPherson, and a granddaughter, Morgan Wolter.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL, with Rev. Marcus Jauss officiating. A visitation with family greeting friends will be held from 4:00 to 7:00, Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Woodlawn Cemetery Association or Farm Rescue.
