Betty L Conway

Betty L. Conway, 98, of Huntsville, IL, passed away surrounded by her family at 6:20 pm Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her home.

She was born on September 1, 1927, in Knoxville, IL to Russell S. and Lola Dyke Moore Daniel. She was united in marriage to Keith Eugene Conway on November 8, 1947, at the home of her mother and stepfather, Howard Daniel, west of Camden, IL.

Betty and Keith lived on a farm north of Camden. She helped Keith on the farm until he passed away on October 26, 1996, from a farming accident. |Betty lived on the farm for 78 years.

They had two children. Stephen at home and Janet (Jerry) Mitchell of Huntsville, IL.

Betty had a great love for her family and for more than 45 years, her stepfamily. She was a long-time member of the Camden United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family, her many flowers, gardens, and reading. With the help of Stephen, they had a large Christmas light display for all to enjoy for many years.

One granddaughter, Emily (Michael) Mitchell Nelson of Hannibal, MO., and three great-granddaughters, Anna, Amelia, and Lucy survive.

Also surviving are two step grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Hart of Jacksonville, IL, and Dan (Marcie) Mitchell of Nixa, MO; three step great grandchildren, Eric Littig of Jacksonville, Abigail Mitchell of Bentonville, AR, and Matthew Mitchell of Nixa, MO; one step great great granddaughter, Adalee Littig of Jacksonville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, stepfather, and granddaughter, Jessica Mitchell, as well as her brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL, with Pastor Dan Wise officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of services on Saturday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Camden United Methodist Church.
