Anita June Lee

Anita June Lee, 80, of Macomb, IL formerly of Plymouth, IL died at 12:40 pm Wednesday April 7, 2021 at home in Macomb, IL.

She was born on June 13, 1940 , in Macomb, IL to Chester and K. Flo Shanks Waner. She married Paul W. Lee on July 19, 1959 , in Atlas, IL. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2018 .

Anita June was a 1958 graduate of Bowen High School and attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL. She was employed as a office supervisor in the Bursars office at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb, IL. Anita June was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Illini basketball, and any NCAA basketball games. She loved to cook, play board games, cards, enjoyed listening to country music, and loved all animals.

She is survived by a son Steve Lee of Springfield, IL, a daughter Dr. Michelle Lee of Macomb, IL, 5 grandchildren; Jacob Naese, Hunter,  Hayden, Havannah, and Halayna Lee, 1 brother, Michael Waner of Memphis, TN, 6 sisters-in-law; Beverly Lee, Jane Rupert, Sharon (Tom) Liebig, Kathleen (Vernon) Meyers, Rebecca Bigger-Thomas (Frank), Sandy (Frank) Lee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Kathy Lee Naese, and 2 brothers-in-law, Eldred Lee and William Rupert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday April 12, 2021 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta by Rev. Jim Clayton. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta, IL. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday April 11, 2021 at Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL.. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to WIU Foundation or Woodlawn Cemetery Association.
