Mr. Alvin C. Hunsaker, 81, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Born April 19, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois, Al was the son of Harry and Greta (Stevens) Hunsaker. He attended Lincoln Christian College following high school. On December 30, 1968, he married Gloria Gates. After years of marriage and the birth of their son, Aaron, the couple later divorced.
After college, Al went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force, serving in both Germany and the Vietnam War. After his war service, he came back to Quincy and was employed as a Traffic Signal Technician for the City of Quincy until his retirement.
During retirement Al enjoyed gardening and riding his motorcycle around Quincy and stopping to visit all his friends. His legacy and memory will live forever with his cherished family.
Survivors include his son, Aaron Hunsaker, daughter-in-law, Melissa, and granddaughters, Emily and Harper, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Norma M. Hunsaker.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point, Illinois, with Pastor Rick Fordyce officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
