Alicia R (Reed) Aden

July 6, 1939 — March 25, 2024

     Alicia R. (Reed) Aden, 84, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully at her home at 9:06 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024.
     Born July 6, 1939, in London Mills, the youngest daughter of Cyril and Bertha  Reed.
     She attended Western Illinois University where she met and married the love of her life, Robert Gene Aden Sr. in 1960.
     An avid lover of music and gifted musician, Alicia was the first chair flutist for the Farmington High School Musical Assembly.
     Alicia made a difference in her community through her volunteer work for the Girl Scouts of Greater St. Louis including Troop leader and Cookie chairman for the district for several years.
     Alicia always had a passion for education and the care of children which she successfully combined for over ten years as the Head of the Florissant Community Center for Early Childhood Education and Development. After a decade of successfully pioneering and growing the center, she was presented with the Key to the City of Florissant by Mayor James J. Eagan.
     She was an elite bridge player (card game). She also enjoyed playing board games, especially Scrabble, solving crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, and entertaining her family and friends. Alicia always enjoyed a lively game of competitive charades with her extended family at holiday gatherings. her family was her focus. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
     Alicia is survived by her husband, Robert G. Aden Sr.; her daughter, Allison Aden, and her son Robert G. Aden Jr. (Shelly); her grandchildren, Philip Robert Aden, and Grant William Aden (Fiance Emily Dickson); one brother, Rudy Reed; one sister, Greta Kumlander; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Alicia was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth, Virginia, Barbara, and Marcia; and her brothers, Quentin, Willard, Hubert, James, Philip, Clayton, and Warner.
     Funeral Services for Alicia R. Aden will be private.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Feed My Starving Children.
