Albert J. Brocksieck, 89, of rural Mendon, died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2023, at his home.
Born June 4, 1934, in Liberty, Albert was a son of Chris and Gertrude Close Brocksieck. He married Billie Jean Bryant on December 23, 1961. She survives.
As a young man, Albert was employed at Miller Statuary in Quincy. He was employed at the Electric Wheel, Division of Firestone, for 24 years and 10 months until its closing. He then worked at Can Am and then Titan Wheel until his retirement.
Albert enjoyed many trips traveling with his wife, Billie. He enjoyed spending time outside fishing and hunting. He loved beagle puppies and cherished the time he spent with his family.
Survivors in addition to his wife are his children, Amy Liebig (Pete), Clayton, David Paul McKittrick (Chong), Camp Point, Sheila Keltz (Bob), Golden, and Bryan Brocksieck (Michelle), Camp Point; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; his sisters, Mary Slagel, Rock Island, IL., Helen Hale, Augusta, and Shirley Dirk, Barry; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mildred Decker, Betty Decker, and Frances Wade, and his brother, LeRoy Brocksieck.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point by Minister Ruthie Burton. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
