Norma Irene Jacobs-Worrick, 93, of Quincy, died on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at her home in Quincy.
She was born on March 24, 1925, in Clayton, Norma was the daughter of Russell and Hazel Maude Kestner-Johnson. She married Meredith Wayne Jacobs on October 8, 1941. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1966. She later married Raymond Harry "Bud" Worrick on July 5, 1986. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1993.
Norma was a pioneer and working mother in life and in raising her children. She was also an avid Cub’s fan. Norma was employed at Motorola in Quincy and later worked as the hostess and catering manager at the Holiday Inn and Ramada Inn in Quincy. She was also a Mary Kay consultant for over 25 years. In her later years, Norma helped run the concessions at Westview Golf Course in Quincy. She attended the Lutheran Church of St. John in Quincy.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Fruehling, Quincy; two sons, Tim W. Jacobs (Jane), Quincy, and Curt Jacobs (Mark Herstein), Cambridge, MA.; a daughter in law, Kristine Jacobs, The Villages, FL.; a step son, Jerry Worrick (Candy) Sturgeon Bay, WI.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and her son, Allen Jacobs.
Norma was cremated. Memorial Services will be conducted at The Lutheran Church of St. John in Quincy by Pastors Steve Hayden and Kendall Meyer on Monday, December 3, 2018, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point.
Visitation will be held at The Lutheran Church of St. John in Quincy on Sunday, December 2, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Lutheran Church of St. John, Unity Pointe Hospice, or Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County.
