     Jerry D. Allen, 84, of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, formerly of Clayton, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the home.
     Born July 2, 1933, in Schuyler County, Jerry was a son of Gilbert and Julia Prunty Allen. He married Betty L. Stevens on July 2, 1955, in Clayton. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2000. 
     Jerry served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked on the farm most of his life including 20 years with Moore's Seed Company in Camp Point. He then worked for Titan Wheel for 10 years retiring in 1996 but went on to work for Siloam Springs State Park, Kuhns Implement and Basch and Skinner after he "retired". He loved being outside tinkering with his tractors and mowing his yard.
     Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (Tim) Bell, Quincy and Bonnie (Rob) Power, Ewing, MO.;  five grandchildren, Amanda (Luke) Roberts , Cedar Rapids, IA., McKenzie (Greg) Taute, Clayton, Heather (Jason) Self, California, Cassie Power, Lewstown, MO., and Paul Power, Canton, IL.; four great grandchildren, Parker and Sophia Taute, Clayton, Tayvion Clay and Jackson Power, Lewistown, MO.; two sisters, Judy Robeson and Norma Kindhart, Rushville; three sisters in law, Linda Allen and Lela Allen, Camden, and Pat Patton, Clayton; many nieces and nephews; and a long time friend, Norma Babcock, Emerson, MO.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his father and mother in law, Don and Helen Stevens; and two brothers, Ferris (Bud) Allen and Terry Allen.
     Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton by Rev. Ronald Graham.  Burial with military honors will follow at the South Side Cemetery, Clayton.
     Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund.
