James E. Taute, 70, of Quincy, formerly of Golden, died at 7:03 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his home.
Born August 13, 1947, in Quincy, James was a son of Edward R. and Arlene M. Busboom Taute. He married Patricia Joan Cantrell August 19, 1972, in Golden, IL. She survives.
James worked as a farmer and factory worker throughout his life. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a daughter, Karen Nordstrom (Patrick), Wyanet, IL.; a son, Kevin Taute (Heather), Liberty; four granddaughters, Jenna and Ashley Nordstrom , Wyanet, IL., and Claire and Leah Taute, Liberty; and two brothers, Don Taute, Golden, and Steve Taute, Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an aunt, Lois Flesner.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 3 at 5:00 p.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point by Dan Wilson. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
Memorial donations may be made to Golden Good Shepherd Home or the Great River Honor Flight.
