Donna Louise Creasey-Hopping, 83, of Plymouth, Illinois passed away peacefully Tuesday,August 21, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by one sister Susan (Daryl) Cheney, her children Linda (Jim) Bastert, Abbie Hopping, Chris Hopping, Brad (Marcy) Hopping and Garry (Melanie) Hopping. Grandchildren are Tyler (Abby) Bastert, Amanda (Adam) Wagner, Lauren (Mohit) Sood, Carrie (Jake) Hopping, Regan Hopping and nine great grandchildren.
Donna was born in Scott’s neighborhood east of Plymouth on May 31, 1935 to her parents Vernie and Raymond Creasey and later in childhood raised and dearly loved by Elizabeth and Raymond. Donna attended North School east of Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953. She married the love of her life, Max Hopping on Oct. 1, 1954. Together they raised a family, farmed and operated several businesses. Donna and Max were awarded conservation farmer of the year in 1989. She was a proud member of TOPS. She also served on the Lamoine Township election board. Donna was most proud of her family and dearly loved reading, bird watching, flowers, collecting, a wonderful cook and a gentle loving soul that never knew a stranger.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Max, her bother Keith, sister Earleen, her parents Vernie, Elizabeth and Raymond.
Per Donna’s request cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at Scott’s Cemetery on Sept. 30th at 2pm.
