Donald Likes, 81, of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, formerly of Camp Point, died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the home.
Born February 22, 1937, in Benville, Donald was a son of Everette Lozelle and Marjorie Likes. He married Sharon Lane on November 24, 1958, in Mt. Sterling. She survives.
Donald worked as a farmer and served as the Camp Point Township road commissioner for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Donald was a member of the Camp Point First Christian Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife are his son, Jeff Likes, Camp Point; his daughter, Kathy Melvin (Todd), Queen Creek, AZ.; four grandchildren, Zoe and Zane Melvin, Queen Creek, AZ., and Lydia and Jeremy Likes, Camp Point; his brother, Forrest "Butch" Likes (Carol), Camp Point; a sister in law, Karen Likes, Camp Point; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Ronald Likes.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Point First Christian Church by Pastor Richard Fordyce. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Point First Christian Church.
