Ross Pollock

September 17, 1926 ~ January 24, 2018 (age 91)

 Ross Pollock, 91, formerly of  Plymouth, IL died Wednesday January 24, 2018 at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas.

William Ross Pollock was born September 17, 1926 near Plymouth, IL to William E. and Alma (Wright) Pollock.  He married Maxine Harris in 1952.  She passed away in 1993.  He married LeaAnn Walker in 1998.  She survives. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerry Pollock; one brother, B. Keith Pollock; and two sisters, Maxine Campbell and Eileen Allison. 

Ross is survived by two sons, Keith Pollock of Plymouth, Jim ( Penny) Pollock of Macomb; four daughters, Susan (Pat) Bauer of Quincy; Connie Pollock of Macomb, Janet (Jeff) Current of Monmouth,  Debra Pollock of Macomb; one step son, Sam Berry of Macomb; grandchildren, Ryan Bauer, Jared Bauer, Madison Current (Halley), Cameron Current, Timothy Pollock, Andrew Pollock, and Benjamin Pollock; his mother-in-law, Treva Walker of Macomb, two sisters, Wilma Bartlett of Macomb, Ruth Carson of Colchester; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ross received his grade school education at Stookey School, a country school east of Plymouth.  He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1944.  Ross farmed the majority of his life east of Plymouth.  In younger years Ross enjoyed showing cattle at local fairs. He loved taking his tractors to tractor pulls, and collecting & restoring old tractors.  He was a Trustee for Lamoine Township for 8 years.  He was Township Supervisor for 12 years and was a member of the Argyle Gas Engine Association.  In later years he sold real estate and worked for a forestry program.  He and LeaAnn lived in Virginia, Kansas, and Arkansas over the last several years with LeaAnn’s work.  He was a member of the White Flock Church. 

His greatest love and pride was his family.  He always made time for his children taking them sledding, roller skating, to basketball and baseball games, to picnics on the Mississippi and rides on the Addy May, and to the State Fair.  He had a big heart, loved laughter, and was a friend to all. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday January 29, 2018 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, IL with Rev. Dan Ormond officiating. Burial will be in Scott’s cemetery near Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
