Eleanor “Ellie” Dowacter, 81, of Plymouth, Illinois died at 5:35 am Friday, September 15, 2017 at her home.

She was born on September 2, 1936 near Vermont, IL to Ghlee R. and Abbie Lavinea Beans Hopping. She married Albert Ivan Dowacter on October 18, 1953 in Keokuk, IA. He survives.

Eleanor had been a homemaker and farmwife. She and her husband Albert, owned and operated A & E Vending Company in Plymouth and the surrounding area for several years. While they were in Florida, she worked at the Everglades City Visitor Center and operated her own cleaning service. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, oil painting and making crafts.

She is survived by three children, Ken (Debbie) Dowacter of Everglade City, FL, Sheryl (Walter) Rowland of Naples, FL and Vicki ( Joe) Walters of Plymouth, IL, 8 grandchildren, Brandon (Erin Orwig) Dowacter, Ryan Dowacter, Crystal (Josh) Wright, Jared (Felicia) Herren, Liz (Mark) Jensen, Adam (Jennifer) Akers, Austin (Shelli), Akers and Ashly (Brian) Reavis, 12 great-grandchildren, a sister, Alberta (Dwight) Schrodt of Macomb, IL and  nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kimble and 3 brothers, Max, Jack and Albert Hopping.

As per Eleanor’s wishes cremation has been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. There is no visitation. Memorial contributions in memory of Eleanor Dowacter may be mailed to MDH Hospice at 525 East Grant St. Macomb, Illinois 61455
